Many of us carry invisible emotional baggage—residues of unprocessed experiences and suppressed feelings that quietly influence our behavior, relationships, and perceptions. We may react strongly to seemingly minor situations, struggle to feel fully present, or sense that something is holding us back. This “emotional backpack,” as Vivian Dittmar describes it, is not a flaw or a failing—it’s a natural consequence of growing up in a world where emotions are often misunderstood or unwelcome. In this workshop, we learn to recognize the contents of our backpack and begin the process of conscious release.
Rather than talking about emotions, this experience invites you into direct contact with what lives inside. You’ll explore a safe and structured method for identifying old emotional residues and gently allowing them to move—so they no longer unconsciously drive your thoughts or interactions. This is not about catharsis or emotional drama, but about developing a grounded, embodied practice of emotional hygiene. Through movement, guided reflection, and peer exchange, participants cultivate presence and inner spaciousness.
As you release what no longer serves, you make room for something more authentic to emerge. Many participants report feeling lighter, clearer, and more connected to themselves after this process. But more importantly, they gain tools they can take into daily life—tools to navigate emotional waves, stay rooted in challenging conversations, and support others without being overwhelmed. This level lays the emotional foundation for deeper transformation in the following workshops.
This workshop is Level 1 of a 6 part Workshop Series held by Vivian Dittmar.

I no longer feel alone with the sense that economic success alone is not fulfilling. I am
part of a community of people who feel the same way and who have set out to heal old
wounds and cultivate new forms of prosperity: better relationships with ourselves, our
fellow human beings, and our environment. That is truly wonderful!
— Timm, ”True Prosperity” workshop
The course has enabled me to find an inner connection between my needs for
closeness and distance. Step by step, I am now finding this balance in my everyday
relationships. Especially in my partnership, it is becoming easier and at the same time
more intimate.
— Leon Sommerfeldt, The Art of Relating course participant
Vivian has a profound reflection on affect that is not just theoretical, but expressed as a
transformative practice.
— John Vervaeke, author of ‘Awakening from the Meaning Crisis’, professor of
psychology and cognitive science, University of Toronto
The course has totally changed me. I have finally found a way to no longer suppress
difficult feelings.
— Daniel Trumino, participant
Before the course: The ship navigates across the sea in a zigzag course, fully loaded
and sluggish, driven by the mind. After the course: I have less fear and, as a result, I am
more myself in everyday life. The ship glides with clear intention, consciously and calmly
through the sea, guided by inspiration, heart intelligence, intuition, and rationality.
— Isabelle Gruber, Inner GPS with Vivian Dittmar course participant
