The music and harmony of nature
Music is speaking the universal language of harmony and very closely related to nature, rooted in nature’s elements, laws and cycles. Nature is the most perfect expression of harmony and we will explore how music is reflecting those natural principals.
Aum – the universal sound
Science and mysticism agree on the vibratory essence of the universe. In all traditions we find myth and legends on the music or sound of creation. The sanskrit mantra Aum is symbolizing that universal sound and the vibrating essence of the whole universe.
The secret of the octave
The Aum and its overtones give birth to the octave and all the musical intervals. The octave contains many secrets and we will discover it’s fundamental laws and principals, it’s way and progression, the 7 tones, 12 halftones and their characteristics.
Musical scales and modes
The scales and modes of music line out the way and movement of melody and harmony. We will work deeply into a few musical modes and learn to hear and feel their differences.

Making music is food for the soul and it is a great art to keep it sacred and pure. It is such a gift to meet and share in the space of music, give and receive in a communion of the heart.
Listening and presence
Listening and presence are the highest virtues in music. Only by a true and attentive listening we can really serve the music, merge with it and receive it’s blessings.
Expression & improvisation
Our soul is longing to express itself and one of the most fulfilling ways of expression is music. We will work with spontaneous and guided forms of musical improvisation and explore their principals and qualities.
Harmony & balance
Harmony in music and life depends on balance. Good music expresses the balance of mind and feeling, silence and dynamic, happiness and sad emotion, giving and receiving, high and low. Music is the balance of heaven and earth.
Gerhard Fankhauser(Shyam) is a musician, singer, writer and mystic from Austria. His main instruments are the classical guitar, the Spanish and Arabic lute, as well as the monochord and different overtone instruments. Vocally he is specialized in the shamanic art of overtone singing, mantras and prayer songs. Gerhard has recorded several CD’s, is the author of the book The Mystery of Music, Harmony & Healing and has performed and taught a healing music way in most parts of the world.
Since 2002 he performs and teaches together with his partner Einat Gilboa from Israel, who is working with holistic voice, movement and dance. Their cooperation is a musical message of healing and peace; a sharing of harmony and unity through music.
EinatEinat Gilboa is a singer and dancer from Israel and strongly influenced from the sacred music of the Hebrew tradition as well as Indian, Tribal and Gipsy music. She is highly developed in the shamanic art of overtone singing and cultivated her own unique and very touching vocal style. In the field of dance she integrated elements of oriental-, belly and tribal dances into a holistic and free form of expression.
She graduated the school of visual theatre in Jerusalem after studies in the fields of theatre, body work and voice art and guides movement, voice and dance workshops, prayer singing circles and retreats. In the last 7 years Einat has been performing and teaching together with her partner Gerhard Fankhauser in different projects of healingworldmusic around the world.
